College Courses Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I access my online course?
A: The Center for Independent and Distant Learning uses Desire2Learn (D2L) to deliver their online courses.
In order to use D2L, you must first set up your account password using the OUNet Account Management System: http://account.ou.edu or https://webapps.ou.edu/pass/. On this page you click the link on the right for setting up new accounts: “New Users: Activate your account here.”
Your OUNet ID (sometimes called the “4 x 4”) is the first four letters of your last name combined with the last 4 numbers of your Sooner ID. You will need this to set up your password and to access D2L. Within 2-3 days after enrollment, you will receive an email containing your Sooner ID. If you did not, please contact CIDL Student Services at (405) 325-1921 or (800) 942-5702.
If you have any problems with the OUNet Account Management System, please call (405) 325-HELP or (405) 325-4357 for assistance. This is the phone number for the main campus information technology help line.
Once you’ve activated your account and have your password set up, go to http://learn.ou.edu to log in to your course(s). You will want to bookmark this page for future use. After you log in, your course or courses will be listed on the right under “My University of Oklahoma Courses.” Click a hyperlinked course name to begin.
After you log in, if you don’t see the course(s) that you expect to or if you have any technical problems accessing course materials, contact the Center for Independent and Distance Learning at (405) 325-1921, (800) 942-5702 or cidltechsupport@cce.ou.edu.
