Advanced Standing Examinations

The Advanced Standing Examinations are developed by academic departments on the University of Oklahoma campus for students who have been admitted to OU. Upon satisfactory completion of an exam, you are awarded pass credit for the course.

For example, if you excelled at a foreign language in high school, you could test out of French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Russian or Portuguese. If you were a whiz in high school math, try testing out of one or more OU math courses.

The cost of Advanced Standing Exams is $25.00 per credit hour. They are free for OU and National Scholars. The exams are given Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Some Advanced Standing Exams require department approval to take.
